Die Leute waren begeistert vom Bauern Buben mit dem Harry Potter Look, dessen Vater Kühe melkte, während dem er Olympia Gold gewann.

Simon took me up on the jumping hill and showed me some secrets of his success. Since I used to  work as massage therapist for sports teams, I was often allowed as journalist to look behind the scenes. It means a lot, that athletes trust me that I report in a respectful way.

Lukas Weber is a perfectionist when it comes to his bike. Before the Handbike World Championship in Nottwil, he took his handbike completely apart and put every piece on a kitchen scale, to weight in, where he could save a few grams. The effort was worth it, as he won two bronze medals at the world championships in his home country Switzerland to top his career.

Vor den Weltmeisterschaften hat er sein Carbonbike komplett  auseinander geschraubt und alle Einzelteile auf die Küchenwage gelegt um noch ein paar Gramm ein zu sparen. Der Aufwand hat sich gelohnt, der Zürcher gewann zweimal Bronze und erzielte damit die grössten Erfolge seiner Karriere.

As he crashed, the lead doctor of a nearby hospital walked by, organized an ambulance and operated him minutes later. All for free on his day off, as the teenager had no insurance. Later another famous Swiss doctor sponsored him a first class flight home to his island.

Als er bei einem Unfall seinen  Oberschenkel bricht, operieren und behandeln ihn ein Schweizer Krankenhaus und zwei Ärzte umsonst, da der Insulaner aus einer 12-köpfigen Familie keine Krankenkasse hat. 

Forgiveness can heal everything

Background article about the attacks on Pearl Harbor. Dick Fiske, a US  WWII veteran, got bombed in the attacks on Pearl Harbor by Japanese  pilot Zenji Abe. After the war, Fiske was full of hatred and got very sick. On the brink of death, he did something so simple - but also so  difficult. He forgave his enemy and they became best friends. Dick Fiske got healthy again and the friendship lead to several meetings of US and Japanese WWII veterans.

Der Amerikanische Kriegsveteran Dick Fiske wurde während des zweiten Weltkriegs bei den Attacken von Pearl Harbor vom Japanischen Piloten Zenji Abe bombardiert. Nach dem Krieg war Fiske voller Hass und wurde schwer krank. Dann tat er etwas so simples und doch so schwieriges, was ihn wieder gesund werden lies: Er hat seinem Feind verziehen und die beiden wurden beste Freunde!
